… and that’s only for the study:
NIH Funds $423,500 Study of Why Men Don’t Like to Use Condoms
In what government watchdogs are calling a waste of taxpayer money, the National Institutes of Health is spending nearly half a million dollars to determine why men don’t like to wear condoms during sex.
That’s only the start. You can be certain that once the researchers find out that men don’t like condoms because a. they have to first think ahead and buy them b. actually put them on, and c. condoms don’t feel the same as bare skin, which any conversation with any guy at the local bar could have told you, then we’ll have to fund the billion-$ project to change behavior so everybody will be using condoms, whether they want to or not.
Pork: what gets the politicians excited.
Now, if someone would invent a condom for federal spending…
Update
More at Scared Monkeys. Jazz Shaw came up with a great post title on this.
Update 2
Conversation with my son:
Fausta: Did you hear that the federal government is spending half a million bucks to find out why men don’t like condoms?
Son: Aren’t most members of Congress men? Couldn’t they just ask them?
