After Vote, Brazilians Lash Out on Social Media
A day after President Dilma Rousseff squeaked out a close electoral victory, Brazilian voters vented their frustrations one way they know best: on social media.

Many Neves supporters, hailing largely from Brazil’s wealthier south, joked they would be packing their bags to flee to Miami or Orlando. Some posted images showing Brazil divided into two, with the poorer northeastern states which supported Ms. Rousseff hived off into a separate country.

The reactions underscored the divisiveness of the elections, which were the closest in Brazilian history.

Considering all the factors, it would have taken a miracle from God Himself for Neves to win.

Dilma claims, “I want to be a much better president than I have been until now,” which rather fills me with dread, considering how

Brazil has chosen to warehouse a quarter of its population into welfare serfdom for nothing more than the benefit of leftist parties and their grasp on power.

“Better,” for what?

Mexico: The death of #Felina

faustaMy latest, Mexico: The death of #Felina, is up at Da Tech Guy Blog,

As we watch with dismay the ever-more-porous border with Mexico, is it unreasonable to be concerned about the effects of the Obama administration’s open borders policy on public safety and national security?

#Weinergate: “To be clear, the picture was of me, and I sent it.” Will not resign.

VIDEO:
Weiner’s statement,

Breitbart at the beginning, since Weiner was late,

4:50PM Weiner says he also misled his Congressional staff.

4:48PM Says did not violate the rules of the House, or violates the Constitution.

Dan Blatt’s also liveblogging.

4:40PM Accepts full responsibility. “My constituents will have to make the determination to vote [him out of office]“. He’s not quitting, alright.

The WaPo is carrying this story in their LIFESTYLE section, along with the decorating and parties.

4:35PM Weiner apologizes to Andrew Breitbart.
He says he never had any physical relationship with any of the women but does not deny phone sex, and “won’t rebut anything” the women are saying.

Earlier in the press conference,
Anthony Weiner states during this afternoon press conference: “To be clear, the picture was of me, and I sent it.”

Would have saved himself a world of trouble if he had just said it in the first place.

He’s not resigning.

Live feed here.

Breitbart says he’s got a photo that is “extremely graphic, and leaves nothing to the imagination.” Weiner’s denying the photo exists. Weiner did not deny that such a photo may exist.

I missed it earlier, but Ace posts that

Breitbart was at Weiner’s press conference. Press began asking him questions so he took the dias and answered them. I think it was mostly about not being the hacker, because there was no hacker.

Stacy is also liveblogging.

A few reactions to OBL’s death

The story ends with Osama bin Laden hiding behind a woman, using a wife as a human shield.

(language warning) Top 50 Internet Reactions to Osama bin Laden’s Death at Ranker.

On Bin Laden, Muslim Brotherhood Makes Different Statements in English and in Arabic
In Arabic, they honor bin Laden as a “sheikh” and call for terrorism against American forces in Muslim lands.

Spanish readers are enjoying #SiOsamaFueraMexicano (If Osama was Mexican), the top trend at Twitter right now. In English, Charlie Sheen & Other Celebs Thank Navy Seals on Twitter.

Bin Laden and chavismo: the difference between idiots and idiocy

The Next Media Animation folks are at it, too, (below the fold, since it’s not suitable for work, either)
