I’m not going to CPAC this year thanks to my new $18,000/yr Obamacare premiums, deductible and out-of-pocket. I’ll miss most of all visiting with fellow bloggers, but here are a few thoughts on Milo and CPAC:
Ii’s all about the headlines.
Marco Rubio at #CPAC2014: “America must be involved in leading the world”
My latest article at Da Tech Guy blog, Marco Rubio at #CPAC2014: “America must be involved in leading the world”
ACU doesn’t invite Christie to CPAC, gets lots of publicity
ABC, CNN and NBC are shocked, shocked! that NJ governor Chris Chistie was not invited to speak at CPAC this year. There’s even a Memeorandum link by now.
Apparently their hopes of Christie being a front-runner among conservatives have been dashed, since “At least eight potential presidential contenders will be speaking at CPAC”. You’d think that by now, political reporters would have figured out that Republican and conservative are not synonyms.
But let’s not disabuse them of their notions, and encourage them to believe that, if Governor Christie beeeehaves, he’ll be invited to next year’s Oscars.

Breitbart’s CPAC 2012 speech, & Stacy’s prayer
Stacy’s prayer,
Dear Lord . . .
. . . please hear my sincere prayer: However badly I screw up, whoever I may offend, whatever public act of idiocy I may ever commit, please —O, merciful God! — never let me be guilty of such foolishness as to deserve the kind of mockery Ace of Spades laid down on David Frum.
Amen!

Santorum’s CPAC speech
Rick Santorum gave an excellent speech on the theme of conservative values, ideas, vision, and honor as contrast to the failed Obama administration policies.
As someone who has been totally unimpressed by Santorum up to now, I was very interested on what he had to say.
He was engaged, he engaged the audience, and drove his message directly, with humor, and with enthusiasm. He had some mild digs at Newt and Mitt without descending into personal attacks, and concluded with an an appeal to duty and honor.
Very good speech.
