It’s Labor Day and the family dropped by, along with the pup, so we hung out,
We didn’t turn on the TV until this morning, when this turned up,
Caribbean Islands Begin Preparations for Hurricane Irma. Category Three storm could threaten islands as early as Tuesday
Hurricane watches were posted for Antigua and Barbuda, Anguilla, Monserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Martin, Guadeloupe and the British Virgin Islands.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center said the center of the storm could near that region late Tuesday. It said islands farther north, including the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, should monitor the progress of the storm.
A Facebook friend sent this very useful link to the National Hurricane Center. For us in Central and South Florida, it’s not clear what the impact will be.
Speaking of Facebook, there’s a person just now declaring that I’m a man. While my obstetrician would differ on that declaration (no cone of uncertainty there!), it’s just another instance of social media insanity: North Korea’s going nuclear, and someone’s getting worked up on this??
Enjoy the day. I’ll post more on LatAm soon.
