In July they announced a huge oil discovery was made off the coast of Mexico. They estimate the reserves to be in the 1.4 to 2.0 billion barrels. Pemex did not do the discovery. It was done by a partnership of three companies. Talos from Houston 35%, Sierra from Mexico 40% and Premier from the UK 25%.
No telling how much more oil is out there to be discovered.
