What a way to start a Good Friday UPDATED

I parsed a sentence in the National Enquirer,

“Private detectives are digging into at least five affairs Ted Cruz supposedly had,” claimed a Washington insider.

All the while, ISIS is active not only in Middle East countries, but also in Europe in what may become nuclear attacks, the U.S. economy grew a measly 1.4%, the IRS stonewalls, Hillary Clinton’s State Department was apparently coordinating meetings for Bill Clinton with foreign heads of state, and Obama debuts a career as entertainer in chief during his trip to Cuba.

But the National Enquirer gets top billing.

Read my post, What a way to start a Good Friday.

The Council Has Spoken!! Our Watcher’s Council Results

At the Watchers’ Council,

The Council has spoken, the votes have been cast, and the results are in for this week’s Watcher’s Council match up.

“Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women’s movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage.” “ – Sheila Cronin, leader of the feminist organization NOW

“The haste and vehemence with which scores of Duke University professors publicly took sides against the students in this case is just one sign of how deep the moral dry rot goes, in even our most prestigious institutions. We have become a society easily stampeded, even by the unsubstantiated, inconsistent and mutually contradictory statements of a woman with a criminal record.

All it takes is something that invokes the new holy trinity of the intelligentsia — “race, class and gender.” The story of a black woman gang-raped by white men fit the theme so compellingly that much of the media had no time to waste trying to find out if it was true before going ballistic.” – Thomas Sowell on the Duke Lacrosse rape case.

“Rape is nothing more or less than a conscious process of intimidation by which all men keep all women in a state of fear.” – Susan Brownmiller, noted feminist authoress and academic.

Stately McDaniel Manor

This week’s winning essay,Stately McDaniel Manor’s Campus Rape And Social Justice: All Men Are Rapists . He gives us a clear look at what’s really behind the ‘epidemic’ in campus rape. Here’s a slice:

Obama, Entertainer in Chief

The EiC goes on the road!

First, a symbolic gesture that delighted Leftie throngs around the world,

the building that Guevara’s face adorns is home to the Cuban Ministry of the Interior.

Unlike our own Ministry of the Interior, Cuba’s is not charged with innocuous tasks like protecting endangered waterfowl. Rather, it operates the National Revolutionary Police, which, in addition to keeping law and order on the streets, harasses and arrests dissidents, and suppresses “counter-revolutionary” activities. In other words, it’s Cuba’s version of the Stasi.

Then came the wave!

And the comedy skit!

And the other comedy skit!

And, once in Buenos Aires, no tour of Argentina is complete without the tango!

Don’t miss out on more fun in the next Keeping Up With the Obamas!

Paraguay says “No” to Dilma

Unasur and Mercosur are asking their member countries to sign a petition supporting Dilma Rousseff against the current investigation on charges of corruption.

As you may recall, Evo Morales enthusiastically said he’ll send “his army” to Brazil, a statement that caused much hilarity (and was later officially deemed unacceptable by Brazil’s opposition).

Paraguay, on the other hand, has officially rejected the petition,

“No intervendremos en los asuntos internos de los países”, [“We will not intervene in a country’s internal affairs.”]

Mercosur member countries are Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela; those countries are also members of Unasur, plus Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Bolivia, Peru and Surinam.

Good for Paraguay.

Argentina: Obama arrives

Pres. Obama arrived yesterday to Argentina. Here’s his schedule, which is the top story in all of Argentina.

As of the writing of this post, he is meeting with Mauricio Macri at the Casa Rosada, where they will hold a joint press conference.

The meeting signals a departure from the downright hostile approach the Kirchner administration held towards the U.S.
