As if the bad news on the economy wasn’t enough, now the fish are out to eat you:
Over 60 suffer in unusual piranha attack in Argentina
More than 60 people suffered injuries as a result of an attack of piranhas in the Argentine city of Rosario. The incident occurred on a local beach on the banks of the Parana River.
In case you wondered,
The waters of the Parana River are inhabited by two species of freshwater piranhas – Pygocentrus nattereri and Serrasalmus spilopleura. They reach 33 inches in length and can weigh up to 3.8 kilograms.
Do not, repeat, do not go in that water.

Argentina Launches A Rocket While Its Infrastructure Collapses
the Pyongyang strategy. “We can’t keep the lights on or keep the economy running, but we’ve got rockets and bombs and we’re crazy enough to use them!”
that was in regards to their “defense rocket”, of course
They’re no worse than the government of India. The Indian space program was started in the ’70s, but to this day India receives British payments to help fight poverty. 🙂
My father says that he talked to some young men when he was in Panama and they said that you could tell piranas from other schools of fish because when they walked along the shore, other fish would flit away but the piranas would follow them. Ugh. I think that crayfish and leeches are bad enough without biting fish.
Dude the picture you have showing isn’t a Piranha haha. This story is actually really crazy. I saw a woman actually lost a finger to one of the piranhas. I wonder how fast it would take for a school of them to take down an entire human body…?
Amanda, here’s a video (in Spanish) showing the actal piranhas involved http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz4t5SBYElo
The picture I used in the post is a piranha caught in Africa http://news.travel.aol.com/2010/10/21/fisherman-catches-rare-giant-piranha/
Are you really writing about Latin America?
The fish you pictured is a rare giant cat fish from Africa. It has nothing to do with piranhas which are from South America.
