January Jones Confirmed for “X-Men: First Class” (but no Patrick Stewart or Hugh Jackman in that movie)
January Jones is set to play a mutant.
The Emmy-nominated “Mad Men” star has signed on for the newest X-Men film, “X-Men: First Class.”
According to Deadline.com, Jones will play Emma Frost, a gorgeous mutant with telepathic powers. In the comic series, Frost, also known as the White Queen, was a onetime foe of the X-Men, but eventually joins their team. She is always dressed in white, can read minds, alter memories and turn her skin into diamonds.
Then she cashes in her diamonds and comes back to kick Don Draper’s butt?
The folks at the Wall Street Journal were saying that the fourth season has gotten off to something of a lackluster start and a lot of it has to do with Don being depressed. Walter Dellinger says,
Donald Draper is a shockingly immoral person whose gift of “coolness” tempts the viewer to excuse behavior that should never be condoned. The resulting cognitive conflict in what we as viewers believe, approve, condemn and condone drives this drama. But to make that work, Draper has to be an extraordinarily appealing personality. And I agree with Alan Brinkley that Don Draper’s stumbling decline this season is depriving “Mad Men” of some of its creative tension. Viewers will soon cease to care very much about this drunk if Don doesn’t pull himself together.
Face it, guys, when Don ain’t happy, ain’t noboby happy.
And filling him with more joy is his new secretary, who aside from being old and unattractive, appears to be not efficient at all,
Let’s just hope he doesn’t ask the hooker back to slap him silly.
New episode of Mad Men tonight at 10PM Eastern.
