Florida Keys tar balls not from Gulf oil leak

Dozens of tar balls found in the Florida Keys are not from the oil leak spewing into the Gulf, authorities said early Wednesday morning.

The tar balls — ranging in size from three to eight inches in diameter — were found Monday and Tuesday and sent to a laboratory in Connecticut to be analyzed.

The tests “conclusively show” that a sampling of the tar balls don’t match the oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill, according to the Coast Guard.

It is not known where the tar balls came from.

Maybe we should be asking the Chinese, the Cubans, the Venezuelans, and even the Russians.
