Jammie has the story, from the New York Times.
Oh, yes, the Times:
STIMULUS WATCH: Weatherizing Program Falling Short (emphasis adeed)
After a year of crippling delays, President Barack Obama’s $5 billion program to install weather-tight windows and doors has retrofitted a fraction of homes and created far fewer construction jobs than expected.
In Indiana, state-trained workers flubbed insulation jobs. In Alaska, Wyoming and the District of Columbia, the program has yet to produce a single job or retrofit one home. And in California, a state with nearly 37 million residents, the program at last count had created 84 jobs.
If you divide $5 billion by 84, it comes to $59,523,809.50 per job.
These government people. They can sure run a program effectively.
And now they’re in charge of your healthcare.
O Bloody Hell says
That “sweet” smell you can sniff?
It’s the scent of Obama® Brand success.
Get used to it folks, you have a full kiloday of it remaining, and then whatever lingers for however long it lingers. And this one strikes me like the kind broccoli produces.
Those of us who were around for Jimmy “You can call me J, or you can call me J-Eh, but don’t call me competent” Carter have wafted this odor before… but this time it’s special. In the most Olympic sense possible.
How did we allow our country to get so adolescent, so impetuous, so willing to go along with the politicians who “feel our pain”? It took 100 years, but we finally have lost ourselves.
GM Roper says
“How did we allow our country to get so adolescent, so impetuous, so willing to go along with the politicians who “feel our pain”?”
What a wonderful comment. Well worth remembering.
The sixties generation grew up and promptly puked on us.
It was our fault as much as it is their hurtful acts. We should have shut them up and made them sit down long ago.
Now we pay for being nice. A lesson to be learned for the future. You think this is bad just wait. After healthcare, the democrats who think their time in D.C. is limited will act like the WWII Japanese soldier left on an island with no way off. They charge and take as many of us as they can with them. Cap and trade, immigration, taxes, gun rights, labor issues and union agendas. It is going to be a busy summer.
I predicted this would happen. I just figured it wouldn’t happen right now. Read the book (www.revoltthebook.com)
