For starters, he wants to fight for you by trying to pass a bill you despise
Tragicomedy from today’s “permanent campaign” stop in Ohio: “This is not about me!” saith The One, before launching into the salute to his own political fortitude that you’re about to see. Which, in fairness, is all he has left. No one likes the bill, it’s killing him with independents, but he’s invested too much political capital in it to end up with absolutely nothing. So he’ll end up with a hugely pared-down bill, a.k.a. almost absolutely nothing, and then tout it as some grand accomplishment that he’ll build on later even though everyone knows that he won’t. Remember, the goal, practically from day one, was simply to pass something, and that’s exactly what they’re going to get. “Something.”
Opposition to O-Care is back up to 58 percent in today’s Rasmussen tracker, incidentally, which ties the mark for the highest disapproval rating yet. Stay tuned for the numbers next week after the Dems launch their bold new plan to nuke Scott Brown’s vote by going with reconciliation.
It’s not about healthcare at all, it’s all about control: Control over the economy. Control over how the American people vote. Control over our lives.
That’s what Obama wants.
The Anchoress is asking a question relevant to my first question: What Does Obama Like About America? The short answer is, not a heck of a lot:
We know all the things the Obama administration dislikes about America: Banks, business, journalists who ask actual questions, investors, entrepreneurs, unintimidated voters, traditional alliances, military tribunals, Gitmo, the private sector, the middle class, cities that are still thriving, or trying not to turn into Detroit, people who make more than federal workers while working within the private sector, George W. Bush, transparency, capitalism and possibly the rights to free speech, the rights to dissent and tea partiers.
Also, in general, he doesn’t seem to like being president, much, and having to do more than look pretty, read the teleprompter and blame Bush.
What does he like about America? As one sycophant in the WH press corp has asked, What “enchants” him? The question is worth asking as Obama seems to be declaring a war against suburbia. 77% of Americans think our president is against business. Jobs? I guess we’ll all have to work for the government. It’s the only thing Obama seems to like.
It’s all about the control.
Everything else is the means to that end.
Can it be stopped?
We’re about to find out.
As has been often said, Democrats say that they will fight for you, while Republicans say they will work for you.
I don’t need the Precedent to fight for me. He’s caused me more grief in the last year then I care to discuss. Let me put it succinctly, OH had a 6.9 % unemployment in Jan of 2009, now 10.9%. I put that squarely on Obama. My only condolence is my neighbors and friends, mostly voted for him, are finally admitting I was right. All during the campaign I kept asking, “Don’t you hear what he’s saying?” “He’s scary”. I don’t know what he wants, I just know I don’t want any part of it.
hey, what happened to the usual wallpaper in the background at one of the President’s serious speeches. Usually its tubby ladies in too small ACORN t-shirts, assorted denziens of the AFT/NEA n comfortable shoes and guys with thick necks with either SEIU or ICWU t-shirts? Why those look like the kind of sober middle class home owners who voted for Scott Brown accept the don’t seem to more much.
Dyslexia is my friend!
Fausta, control is exactly what Progressives want. Progressives feel they need to protect some idiots from themselves and spend money better than the rest of we idiots. You know they think we are idiots because they call us idiots ALL OF THE TIME. Mr. Obama openly said that the American people just don’t understand what he is trying to do for us. Bill Maher said we need to be led by our noses. We just don’t live up to the standards of Progressives so they MUST take away our freedoms and our money to make sure everything works out the way it is supposed to. Otherwise we idiots would destroy the world via climate change, get rich off of the poor while destroying them with our pollution, and spend our money on stupid things like building our own businesses and helping our neighbors in ways Progressives don’t approve of. They are so right and the rest of us are so wrong (and stupid), they MUST take control. Health care is the perfect way to do that.
I’m also at the point of no return on all the speeches (campaigning) the Precedent is making. “Let me be clear” on this, he is saying nothing new and sounds more and more like he is out of his league.
Even Clinton had enough intelligence to “get it”.
He wants to bring America low.
He wants to hollow us out monetarily to weaken our “fight back” efforts.
