Michael Steele, facing his critics:
Steele Lashes Out: Critics Should ‘Get a Life,’ ‘Shut Up,’ ‘Fire Me … or Get out of the Way’
ABC News’ Aaron Katersky and Rick Klein report: RNC Chairman Michael Steele is lashing out his critics, with a series of blunt messages for prominent Republicans who have blasted him over his leadership for the Republican Party.
“I tell them to get a life. That’s old Washington, that’s old ways, and I don’t represent that, and that kills them,” Steele told ABC News Radio in an interview today.
“I’m telling them and I’m looking them in the eye and say I’ve had enough of it. If you don’t want me in the job, fire me. But until then, shut up. Get with the program or get out of the way.”
Well, the guy’s dropped the gauntlet.
Take him up on it, and fire him.
That’s a trick question, right? “Yes.”
Michael’s been a great disappointment to me.
@ Anthony, let me guess, you are a Romneyite and wanted Saul Anuzis!
We won in NJ and Virginia, a new website is up, we are catching up in the social medium sector and are prime for major gains this fall…
Go Michael Go! He’s awesome and EXACTLY the person the GOP needs in DC to lead us.
If Steele is so great why then does he get happy feet when Scott Brown or Marco Rubio are mentioned? I’m beginning to suspect that he is that empty suit who the Democrats campaigned against effectively when he ran for governor.
> Take him up on it, and fire him.
Indeed. Time to drop Da Boom on the Michael of Steele.
Carlos, let me guess, you’re a Deanybaby and wanted Hillary…
> We won in NJ and Virginia,
Nothing to do with Steele
> a new website is up,
Oh, my Goodness Gracious me!!! A Website! What will the GOP think of NEXT!?!?!?!?
> we are catching up in the social medium sector
Why are they behind, praytell?
> and are prime for major gains this fall…
Yeah, that’s ALL Steele’s doing. Uh-huh. Nothing to do with Pelosi, Reid, and Obama vastly overreaching… Nothing at all.
Yeesh. The man’s a failure on all levels.
Steele needs to go. They should do whatever it takes to bring Liz Cheney in. Let Steele go push his pop up book on his own time. For his sake, I hope it is more substantial than the moronic questions in the letters he sends me asking for cash.
Patterson get your facts straight, Steele did not run for Governor, he ran for U.S. Senate against at the time Congressman Ben Cardin and gave him the fight of his life, securing a record number of african american votes…do your research or “step off”, ignorant ignoramous.
Goodness, everybody calm down! The chairman does not and should not be leading but encoraging good cadidates. I am not sure what people really want from Steele. We should much more concerned about local parties. Local candidates are the core of we should be concerned with.
