It ain’t over till the fat guy wins,
Republican Chris Christie, a former federal prosecutor, pulled out a win for the New Jersey governor’s race against a deeply unpopular Democratic incumbent whom voters blamed for the state’s high taxes and budget woes.
The Associated Press called the race for Mr. Christie over incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine just after 10 p.m. With 71% of precincts reporting Tuesday night, Mr. Christie had 50% of the vote to Mr. Corzine’s 44%.
No one, believe me, no one is more surprised than I.
I sincerely hope that isn’t a “Dewey Defeats Truman,” moment.
After being a boardworker in Camden County in a heavily Democrat district, I was not that surprised. There was low voter turnout there. Republicans were motivated. My husband in a Republican area of NJ had to wait in line.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!
I knew you’d like the news, Jim!
Congrats on your new governor!
I sure hope Christie is vaccinated for the meme virus before moving into Drumthwacket. The meme strain can cause dimconversion resulting in severe amnesia.
That’s a huge win for Chris and Republicans. Looking forward to seeing him in Trenton.
Is there any truth to the rumor that Corzine actually won with 55% of the vote to Christie’s 50%? All absentee ballots of course.
