I couldn’t resist linking to the pie fight scene from The Great Race. I used to see Tony Curtis regularly at a bookstore in LA and eventually got up the nerve to tell him that I like him in The Sweet Smell of Success and The Great Race. He thanked me and then told me that the pie fight took days to film and that he didn’t clean himself up one time and drove or was driven back to the hotel slightly gooey. By the end of the week the interior of the car reeked because the icing went bad from the heat and the studio didn’t clean the limo. UGH!

A man or woman after my own heart. There are no pie fights to compare with The Great Race. That was the pie fight to end all pie fights.

After that, every pie fight is a let-down.
I once had a chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and jello fight. I have it on tape 🙂
I bet you have some leftover goo left at the location where that one took place, Pete!
