Stewie managed to PO Chávez:
Venezuela prohibe, bajo amenaza de sanción, la emisión de ‘Family Guy’ Venezuela bans, under threat of sanction, the broadcast of “Family Guy”
Hugo Chávez doesn’t want it because Family Guy “advocates the use and legalization of marijuana”. Venezuelan Minister of the Interior and Justice, Tareck El Aissami, announced that (my translation)
“Not only is broadcasting it forbidden, anyone doing so will be sanctioned. It’s appraised to comply with responsibility law on radio and TV.”
“Someone has to account for this garbage shown on TV. All the cable stations which broadcast this content will be fined by law.”
More from AP.
Venezuela has enacted a censorship law, under which a station broadcasting The Simpsons during a “family viewing hour” was fined last year.
While at the UN, Chávez said “the smell of sulfur is gone”, and then hyped the Oliver Stone movie. Later last night he was on Larry King, declaring he loves Jesus Christ and said he wants “relations based on respect” with the US. Some respect.
I’ll be talking about this with Monica Showalter of Investor’s Business Daily in this morning’s podcast at 11AM Eastern.
They’ve got gas over Family GUy’s depiction of marijuana, but they’re OK with their leader bragging about his use of coca paste in speeches to the Venezuelan congress?
Okay…..
If it were legalized Chavez would lose a whole lot of black-market income and his narco gangster friends would find another job!
Pot? “El Communiste` for Life” has his diaper soiled about pot on the Family Guy?
I guess wife swapping, bestiality, weanie wacking, and curb kicking homos, and glorifying nazis is OK subject matter for the rest of that infantile waste of video??
Ah, Chavez. You have an odor, too.
Hugo has his standards, Locomotive.
