The attack early Saturday was the sixth against media outlets and other institutions critical of Zelaya.
Noticias 24 explains that the Molotov cocktails
caused a fire at the main entrace of El Heraldo, which, as most of the national dailies, has supported the government after the overthrow of Manuel Zelaya last June 28, and which has strongly criticized demonstrations in his support.
As La Gringa explains,
Similarly confusing, there have been several reports of intimidation and personal attacks on local media representatives as well as vandalism and property damage, including a car burning, by Zelayists, but somehow the reports of media suppression always seem to imply that it is the government who is suppressing the media.
La Gringa also posts that Zelaya flew to Chile and claimed he’s not going back to Honduras for now because he’s been subject to death threats. Still looking for a sympathetic shoulder to cry on, Zelaya had previously visited Brazil.
