The other day I was at the hairdresser’s and started reading TIME Magazine. The content was awful enough I dropped it and picked up a bridal magazine instead, which considering I have no one involved in wedding preparations and find the subject insipid, is a lot to say. Since I had not brought a book with me the other choice was to sit there under the hair dryer staring at space.
Reason is 100% on the money when they said, You Know The Real Reason Why Time Mag Is Going Down the Drain? The Content!
Reason asks,

Right on target again. I guess I’m a fan of Fausta.
An excellent book on the New Deal, easy to read. Very incisive. Not too technical is “The Forgotten Man” by Amity Schlaes. A very good explanation about how lots of intervention deepened the Depression and caused untold hardship.
Fausta:
Please keep up the astounding reporting on Honduras.
As far as time magazine goes……nada.
The clock ticks rapidly as to their thankful demise.
I believe that many trees would be spared if they shut down, no?
Where are the enviro’s insofar as smashing time/warner’s door down as to the absolute waste of carbon, etc with regard to dead tree media.
Irony..you bet.
Thanks for your hard work.
Much appreciated.
Fausta: What do you have against staring at space?
It’s not just Time but could have been any of a thousand periodicals. It’s become impossible to find anything worth reading in a salon, doctors office, or waiting room of any kind.
You’re absolutely right, Robert. After that I’ve made sure I’m carrying my own reading material every time I leave the house.
