I started reading Atlas Shrugged two weeks ago after reading Stephen Moore’s article, ‘Atlas Shrugged’: From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years. I had read parts of Atlas Shrugged but never the full 1,168 page book. As Moore says, I was “a virgin.”
While a book that size would normally take me a week to read, I had to pause last week since I’ve been unusually busy.
This is a book to study, so I’m taking my time. This weekend will be mostly dedicated to reading Atlas Shrugged. So far, I highly recommend it – but buy it, read it, decide for yourself.
The Liberty Papers (no virgins, they!) ask Will Atlas Shrug? A Compilation of Blogosphere Commentary about “Going Galt”
I don’t have a noteworthy quote on the book yet, but give it time and I’ll improvise one.
I think we enjoy the weekends so much these days because it’s a respite from the grand parade of craptacular stories that run M-F. Really: on Sunday night I get that sinking feeling when I realize that Monday will bring more horror stories. It’s our leading export!
Ain’t that the truth.
