The bill, for the time being, is 1,434 pages long.
And it’s still in the works.
This is a huge, trillion-dollar piece of legislature.
And there’s a nagging question: HAVE THE SENATORS READ IT?
According to one of my Senate contacts, the answer is, no:
No one on the GOP side of the Senate has seen final text of the stimulus bill. It could come really late tonight. There will be a bunch of staffers who won’t be sleeping tonight.
But the chances are slim to none that any Senator will have gone through the bill. Sad but true.
I am outraged that this is going on.
By the way, Obama will sign the bill as soon as the Senate sends it back to him. There will be NO five-day waiting period.
That would leave 15 1/2 hours, or 930 minutes, for consideration of the 1,434-page conference report before floor action on the bill commences — one and a half pages a minute from now until the morning, with no stops for any reason whatsoever.
I’m a fast reader but not that fast.
Update 2 Schumer’s used to not reading what he votes for, though.

Why Are Lobbyists Getting Copies of the Stimulus Before Congressional Offices?
The Dems have their priorities, that’s why.
