Geert Wilders was denied entry to the UK by the Home Office.
The Dutch ambassador was also at Heathrow to make clear his government’s opposition to the ban on Mr Wilders entering the UK.
The Home Office made a statement to the effect that (emphasis added)
The Home Office said there was a blanket ban on Mr Wilders entering the UK under EU laws enabling member states to exclude someone whose presence could threaten public security.
Is that so? The Daily Mail lists a few of the people the Home Office’s let in (scroll down to the end of the article).
Go to my prior post to view Fitna, the movie.
In other words:
“Whereas-
We the leaders of Great Britain, having invited into our country followers of a barbarian 7th-century ideology which accepts no co-existence with other cultures,
and
whereas extremists of this ideology have on multiple occasions already bombed our transportation systems and murdered many of our citizens,
and
whereas practitioners of this ideology on many occasions have demonstrated in the streets, indicating their willingness to bomb, behead, murder, and mutilate those who oppose their ideology,
and
whereas Mr. Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician whose film “Fitna” about this savage ideology points to specific scriptures in its “holy book” which are used as religious justification for terrorism, was invited by members of the British Government to show his film before the House of Lords and discuss its disturbing implications,
and
whereas we the aforementioned leaders of Great Britain are really worried that our seething, restive, uncivilized religious minority might take offense when they learn that we invited a person here who is not afraid to criticize their insufferable worldview and bizarre religious customs,
THEREFORE,
Let it be resolved that:
we will make no attempt to enforce our laws regarding free speech and civil behavior in our own country;
rather than confront those who may wish to use the occasion of Mr. Wilders’ visit as a pretext to riot and do bodily harm to our police and citizenry,
we prefer instead to appease those who are uncivilized;
instead of welcoming an invited guest, a member and representative of a foreign government, a man who stands for free speech and liberty, we choose to exercise bad manners and poor taste by rescinding our prior invitation and banning Mr. Wilders from landing on our shores.
To be quite clear:
in our craven fear of the savages we’ve loosed upon our citizenry, we would rather shame ourselves and our nation in the view of the international community rather than stand up to those members of a backward ideology who think –apparently correctly– that random violence and threats of murder will trump the values of Western Civilization.”
That about sums it up to me.
Good grief, how low can Britain fall?
It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.
