Via Extreme Centre, Canadian support for Robert Redeker
We urge the French government to take all measures which are necessary so that the French constitution is applied on French soil, but we ask our own governments, in Ottawa and Quebec , to utterly denounce this second Salman Rushdie situation. We demand that the countries of the European Union, as well as the institutions which represent them, face their responsibilities against global terrorism, which intends to impose an iniquitous dictatorship on our still free societies. Let us hope that the United States of America and Russia form without delay a coalition for the defense of the core values of our civilization, where freedom of thought is non-negotiable.

Update, 3:34PM: BREAKING NEWS The Orleans (Loiret province) police have arrested a suspect (link in French) for the death threats issued to Redeker. Apparently the suspect, of the Muslim faith, was acting alone. The suspect is to appear at the local magistrate by tomorrow.
Robert Redeker remains in hiding.
Remember the Clearstream scandal? While nothing much has happened (and I predict nothing much will happen), yesterday Defence Minister Michele Alliot-Marie was in the France2 newscast denying that Le Corbeau had told her anything about the infamous (fake) list linking Sarkozy with shady dealings. And guess who the Chirac wing of their party (Chirac’s, Sarko’s and Alliot-Marie’s) is touting as the anti-Segolene/anti-Sarko? If you guessed Alliot-Marie, you’re correct!
The French are indulging in their version of “Blame Bush”, namely blame Sarko. Meanwhile the attacks on police continue, with three attacks taking place in the balieus. It’s getting so bad (link in French, via No Pasaran) even Villepin‘s talking tough. Nidra Poller
Meanwhile, about 2,500 policemen are boldly attacked in French banlieues, brutally injured, jeered and mocked when they arrive in force to arrest the punk jihadis who have slipped back into the population and turned into victimized civilians like their Hizbullah heroes.

Update: Brussels Journal
Already 2,500 policemen have been wounded so far this year. The taboo of attacking officers on patrol has indeed been broken. It looks as if some want to kill at least one policeman during this year’s Ramadan. The French police also registered 10 to 12 anti-Jewish incidents per day in the past 30 days throughout the country.
