A few years ago I came across this CD, which I highly recommend. Jan Garbarek’s saxophone improvisation to 12th to 15th century early music sung by the Hilliard Enssemble at the Monastery of St. Gerold is absolutely glorious. As one of the Amazon reviewers put it, “beauty, reverence and emotion”.
And perfect for Easter, too, in its theme of faith and rebirth.
I’ll go listen now.
