I stopped watching Woody Allen movies years ago
after his Hannah and Her Sisters, a heart-warming movie about a woman, played by Mia Farrow, whose parents are alcoholics (her mother was played by Mia’s real-life mother), and who’s betrayed by her cheating husband and sister, all warpped up with a lovely soundtrack sung by the inimitable Bobby Short. Ugly relationships abounded among the other characters.
Then came Woody’s affair with his step-daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, about which he’s saying,
his relationship with wife Soon-Yi Previn, which has a “more paternal feeling,” is “one of the truly lucky things that happened to me in my life.
In order to adopt Soon-Yi, Mia had to canvass Congress to change adoption laws.
Ugly people, Woody and Soon-Yi.
