About Plame,
I’m happy to remain ignorant and indifferent. CIA employees posing for Vanity Fair just aren’t worth my time. However, it pushes credulity to think that Judith Miller — employee of that powerful arm of the vast right wing conspiracy, the NYT — is going to jail to protect Karl Rove or any other Bush administration official(s).
The NYT has actually stated that no underlying crime was commited when revealing Ms Plame’s name.
As to that husband of hers, the WSJ sums it,
In short, Joe Wilson hadn’t told the truth about what he’d discovered in Africa, how he’d discovered it, what he’d told the CIA about it, or even why he was sent on the mission. The media and the Kerry campaign promptly abandoned him, though the former never did give as much prominence to his debunking as they did to his original accusations. But if anyone can remember another public figure so entirely and thoroughly discredited, let us know.
I’m sure Graydon Carter’s ready to have them both on the cover.
