Back from vacation

I’m back home now, and catching up with things.

Catching up’s been rather more complicated that I expected, since when we arrived last evening the electricity was off in parts of the house. The indoor temperature was in the 90s and the air-conditioning wasn’t working, so we decided to spend the night at a local motel. This morning I called an electrician who told me that the power line was broken (4 out of 6 wires, which is why we had some power), and, after the public utility people came and replaced it — they came right away — we’re now getting back to normal. The indoor temp is now down to a balmy 85F.
