Update on the Mara Salvatrucha MS-13 gang
Last March I posted on the murderous MS-13 gang, the huge gang with a wide international network and alleged Al-Qaeda connections, and
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials say the organization has been linked to human smuggling, drug trafficking, arms smuggling, gang violence and murder.
Last March there were many arrests of gang members around the country and here in NJ, as this article states, “as far south as Long Branch and as far west as Morris County”. Several of those arrests have led to gang murder trials.
The MS-13 gang had threatened the Minutemen. The Minutemen have not been harmed.
The gang, however, continues to use Arizona as a corridor to Los Angeles CA, or the East Coast. AP is reporting that
Mexican and U.S. law enforcement officials said Wednesday they will share intelligence and resources to fight Central American gangs, whose wave of violence has spread to the nations’ common border.
Law enforcement representatives from the 10 Mexican and U.S. border states meeting in Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, Texas, drafted a plan that calls for the exchange of information on the Mara Salvatrucha and the M-18, two of the most ruthless Central American gangs.
Additionally, a comprehensive anti-gang bill is being debated in Congress.
¡Gringo Unleashed! posts on Arnold’s support of the Minutemen. Via Gringo, Hispanic Pundit post on (to use Gringo’s own words) excellent primer on the basics of Latino and black gangs in California from a Mexican-American’s perspective is a must-read.
