Paul Mulshine, who has already given a bad review to former Governor Whitman’s book, quotes her saying in her book, “No responsible scientist is suggesting the deliberate creation of human embryos for the sole purpose of harvesting stem cells.”
Paul talked to Robert George, a Princeton professor whose expertise is in law and ethics, replied,
“That is the most ignorant statement I have ever heard from someone who is supposed to know something about the public’s business,” he said.
In fact, the whole debate centers on the ethics of creating human embryos for harvesting stem cells. That was the point of Ronald Reagan Jr.’s speech to the Democratic convention last summer, which Whitman must have missed, and also of the recent law passed in New Jersey to fund such research.
And she used to be a cabinet member . . .
