Where is it written: Only in Ukraine? (updated)
asks Dr. Krauthammer this morning:
So let us all join hands in praise of the young people braving the cold in the streets of Kiev. But then tell me why there is such silence about the Iraqis, young and old, braving bullets and bombs, organizing electorate lists and negotiating coalitions even as we speak. Where is it written: Only in Ukraine?
Speaking of which, Arhtur’s writing on Iraq the Magnet, and the Ukranian Supreme Court is pondering what to do next. France2 has videos (in French); go to the right sidebar under Vidéos and check out their selection.
My thanks to Maria for the Krauthammer article!

Behind all these contorted reservations, we hear an inner voice which says, in effect, “Why won’t all these bloody, semi-barbarian, east Europeans leave us alone, to go on living happily ever after in our right, tight, little west European (or merely British) paradise?” And, quite often, “Why are those bloody Americans stirring them up to disturb us?”
just as Dr Krauhammer’s asking, “Where is it written: Only in Ukraine?”
