What WMDs? Updated
Last Tuesday I mentioned the CNS Special Report Exclusive: Saddam Possessed WMD, Had Extensive Terror Ties. Barcepundit has an in-depth analysis (in Spanish, not yet in his English page), along with Manel of Hispalibertas. Manel has a link to Unmasked men
where Walid Phares validates the CNS Special Report documents. Phares, a Middle East scholar, a Lebanese-American Christian who speaks four languages and is a recognized expert on Islamic militants and terrorism,
is one of at least four eminent Middle East experts to agree that the documents—published for the first time last week—demonstrate that Saddam Hussein collaborated with and supported Islamic terrorist groups, including the current terror nemesis in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.
. . .
Former Clinton advisor Laurie Mylroie, who taught at Harvard and the U.S. Naval College and authored two books on Iraq under Saddam Hussein, told CNS the find represents “the most complete set of documents relating Iraq to terrorism, including Islamic terrorism.”Bruce Tefft, the retired CIA official, described the documents as “accurate.”
Now CNSNews.com Publishes Iraqi Intelligence Docs.
When will the MSM pay attention to this? Or are they waiting for after the election because they interpret this information as being favorable to Pres. Bush’s stance on the war and therefore not newsworthy?
Update Barcepundit now has his analysis in his English page (Barcepundit’s extraordinary posts are both in his English and in his Spanish blogs. Puts me to shame, since I post on either/or, rarely translating). While understandably skeptical, Barcepundit examines several theories as to why Duelfer didn’t mention them in his report, but comes to the conclusion that the documents are good.
