and my post from last year, Abortion and Oscar Elias Biscet
“the umbilical cord was cut and they were allowed to bleed to death or they were wrapped in paper and asphyxiated.”
That year, I described Christ Hospital’s Comfort Room, unveiled in December 2000 to counter my public statements that personnel were shelving babies to die in the department’s soiled utility room next to dirty linens, bloody and biohazardous waste, and a urinal.
This was no academic debate. The issue arose when, as Freddoso notes. Christ Hospital in the Chicago area got outed for leaving these infants to die after a nurse blew the whistle on the hospital. An investigation determined the truth of the allegations, and the Illinois legislature debated on whether infants born alive during abortions should be considered persons and require practitioners to provide care for them. Obama, even with the redundant “neutrality clause” attached to the bill, said no.
Clearly, Obama lied about his position. It’s no small rhetorical matter, either. His vote puts him on the extreme of the pro-abortion camp, so extreme in fact that not a single member of Congress would follow his example. Obama voted to allow Christ Hospital and other facilities performing abortions to allow live children to die.

I am a socialist. I am a communist. And I do not support Barrack Obama or anyone who would vote against protecting a living, breathing baby.
Socialists and Communists are given a bad rap because of what Stalin, Mao and Cuba have done under the false guise of communism. And let’s be clear – I am not against abortion. I don’t think I would ever have the heart to have an abortion myself, but similarily I don’t think it is right for a government that is still run by men to dictate morals to women. Sex and childbirth for too long has been used as a tool to ensure inequality between the sexes. If pregnant women or women with children were not chained to the stove by corperate politics and sexist social attitudes then I think there would be many less abortions in this country.
But I just want to illustrait that there are some issues that can truly bridge the gap between people of different political persuasions. This is such an issue. I didn’t like Obama to begin with (though I am usually not thrilled with most mainstream politicos) but now I absolutely will not vote for him. Communists and Socialists like myself are not in favor of killing living babies. Thats just a bunch of bull the mainstream media spins. We are people, just like you, with the same hopes and fears. When I hear people call Obama a communist, it makes me feel physically ill.
