Earthquake in Haiti? Blame global warming, and the USA
I have been reading on the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti, and of course, soon enough one finds stupidity strewn along the path.
First Danny Glover, who believes the earthquake was caused by global warming and climate change:
Says Glover: “When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I’m sayin’?”
Tim Blair correctly points out,
His obscene opinion would be bigger news if Glover had – in the manner of others – idiotically blamed a less-fashionable deity.
Tim Blair refers to another idiot, Pat Robertson.
While we watch that YouTube, it may be worth asking if Danny’s donating for earthquake relief any of the $18 million bucks Hugo Chavez gave him a few years ago for making that movie about Toussaint D’Overture, the Haitian slave that led the revolt against the French and declared himself emperor.
We’re still waiting for the movie.
Menwhile at the HuffPo, Bill Quigley opines, Part of the suffering of Haiti is indeed “Made in the USA.” because in the last decade the US cut foreing aid to Haiti. Of course, the fact that Haiti has, of its own making, three centuries’ worth of disastrous history have nothing to do with Quigley’s opinion.

What? No mention of our trusty Blame Czar, Pres. Bush? Mr. Glover is clearly off of his game. Oh, and off of his rocker.

Just wondering if Chavez the Clown is doing anything for Haiti? Not just saying he is going to do something, but actually doing something. Seems that once again it is the great nation USA leading the way in helping these people.

Well, in fairness the 15 year occupation of Haiti was a total hash as the US sided with the monied class and allowed the use of forced labor.

I still think global climate disruption is a factor in this earthquake.

The on-going temperature decline trend was predicted.
All average global temperatures since 1895 are accurately predicted by a simple model using the first law of thermodynamics and the time-integral (same as ‘running total’ if time steps are equal) of sunspot count. The standard deviation of concurrent measured minus predicted temperatures since 1900 is 0.064 C. There was no need to consider any change to the level of CO2 or any other greenhouse gas. Climate change is natural.
The model, with an eye-opening graph, is presented in the October 16 pdf at http://climaterealists.com/index.php?tid=145&linkbox=true. (One of the discoveries made during this research was the effective sea surface temperature oscillation. The integral of the PDO Index http://jisao.washington.edu/pdo/PDO.latest indicates a substantial measure of sea surface temperatures, as does ENSO 3.4, but not all so replace all references to PDO with ESST for Effective Sea Surface Temperature).
This model predicted the ongoing temperature decline trend. None of the 20 or so models that the IPCC uses did.

The US has had some pretty bad foreign policy all throughout our history (just look at 2009!). However, the US is always first to help out. Nobody is perfect, but, when comparing the bulk of actions and policies of our country vs. the rest, the US comes out ahead every time.

No, I think we can blame his opinion on thirty years of disastrous thought processes.
