MoDo: “I heard it through the grapevine”
MoDo plagiarizes Talking Points Memo; claims she heard it from a friend, even when the 45-word quote matches Talking Points verbatim except for three words.
There wouldn’t be anything wrong with her cut and paste job IF she had fully attributed it with a link to the original source.
But she didn’t, and the quote is not even that brilliant.

She needed to rip that off? Or lift it from a pal, whatever? Time to hang it up.
Allahpundit points out the irony,
They’re taking more than just ideas, champ. In fact, the beauty of MoDo’s snafu is that not only does it show a major player in the media being led around by nutroots talking points, it involves her lifting stuff from a blog that’s actually called “Talking Points.”
Yes, and it’s not the first time MoDo’s been altering text,
Back in 2003, Maureen Dowd was caught altering a quote from then-President Bush to apply a spin that was negative enough for the Gray Lady (the New York Times, not Maureen herself), a practice that James Taranto of the Wall Street Journal named “Dowdification.” (Related: see also, ransom note school of quote editing.)
