Jimmy Carter reported to accept coca invitation from Evo Morales
Let’s hope it’s a hoax.

Well, it’s starting to look like Jimmy really is. El Universal also has the story:
“Puesto que el presidente Morales ha venido a mi propiedad y evidentemente ha cosechado algunos maníes, yo espero que en mi próxima visita pueda ir al Chapare, donde él me va a llevar a cosechar hojas de coca”, respondió Carter, lo que también arrancó una mueca de felicidad en Morales.
(my translation:)
“Since president Morales has come to my property and evidently harvested some peanuts, I hope that in my next visit I can go to Chapare, where he’ll take me to harvest coca leaves,” replied Carter, which brought out a smile on Morales.”

Well, I always thought Carter was on coca… Kidding!
Let me tell you something about coca. Years ago, when I was living in the DC area, I had started a job at one of the non-profit trade associations that dominate the landscape in Old Town Alexandria. When I checked the contents of my new desk, I found something I never thought I’d see in my wildest dreams: two or three tea bags with coca leaves inside, from either Peru or Bolivia. I freaked out! I had never seen any of that before, yet if someone finds that inside my desk, will they arrest me for drug use? I took the tea bags home and showed them to my husband. We gave them a proper burial in the trash can. I’m sure the lady working before me at that same office received them from another worker who had relatives in Peru – a lady who was still around when I worked there. She retired a couple of years after I left that area for TX.

This buffoon has the blood of thousands on his hands. He did absolutely nothing for a year and a half while a bunch of thugs held Americans hostage. His cowardice emboldened Islamic radicals around the world.
