I hestitate to use the term understand in context of the Obama administration foreign policy. However this much is clear the dim onw, barack Obama, does not like Great britian. It does seem that Obama dislike to the Brits does reflect in his foreign policy.
As for Mrs.B.J. Clinton, when are going to see the smart diplomacy she promised, if ever?

What I heard, or read, is that the reason Obama got rid of Churchill’s bust is Michele; something related to slavery in England. It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s why he’s taking a neutral position in the Falklands. Talk about holding a grudge.

I think the hostility derives more from Obama’s father who was imprisoned by the British in Kenya. Plus Britain ended slavery in 1834.

That’s what I mean about “holding a grudge”. Your explanation sounds more likely though.
